After-school activities

Rules of conduct

Participants must follow three essential principles: cooperation, respect and a positive attitude. The school’s code of conduct remains in effect during activities. Behaviour that disrupts the class may result in immediate removal without a refund.

Parents’ responsibilities

Parents must provide accurate and current contact information, including their email address. A reminder is sent before the session begins. It is the child’s responsibility to attend the activity; Atlas Échecs cannot be held responsible for an absence.

Registration and groups

Space is limited and assigned in order of registration. When a group is full, a waiting list may be opened and available spaces are then offered in that order. A $10 administrative fee per child applies to late registrations.

Schedule and cancelled lessons

Session dates, schedules and duration may change. When a lesson is cancelled by the school or because the teacher faces a major impediment, a make-up lesson is arranged whenever possible.

Force majeure

If activities must be suspended because of circumstances beyond the control of Atlas Échecs, alternative arrangements will be proposed whenever possible.

End of activity and late pickup

The responsible parent must be present at the scheduled time. If a parent is late, the teacher will wait up to five minutes. After that time, the child will be taken to the school’s daycare service at the parent’s expense.

Tax receipts

No Relevé 24 tax slip is issued for after-school activities.

Refund policy

  • Seven days or more before the activity begins: full refund.
  • Six days or fewer before the activity begins: refund less a $25 administrative fee.
  • After the activity begins: a partial refund may be available up to and including the third lesson.

Lessons already attended, administrative fees and absences are non-refundable. No refund is provided when a participant is removed for failing to follow the rules of conduct.

Our commitments

The safety and well-being of participants are our priorities. Teachers and everyone supervising activities apply the principles of cooperation, respect and a positive attitude.

Release of liability

The parent or guardian releases Atlas Échecs from liability in the event of an accident or injury. They agree to follow and ensure compliance with all safety instructions and confirm that they have civil liability insurance.

Day camp

Rules of conduct

Cooperation, respect and a positive attitude are expected throughout the camp. Behaviour that compromises safety or disrupts activities may result in the participant’s removal without a refund.

Parents’ responsibilities

Information provided at registration must be accurate and current, including the child’s name, the parent’s contact information and relevant medical information. Children may arrive starting at 9 a.m., or at 8 a.m. when morning extended care has been booked. They must be picked up no later than 5 p.m., or 5:30 p.m. when afternoon extended care is included.

Registration

Space is limited and confirmed in order of registration. When a group is full, a waiting list may be opened and available spaces are offered in that order.

What to bring

Each participant must bring a cold lunch, snacks and a water bottle, as well as any clothing and items listed in camp communications. Allergies, medication and special needs must be reported before the activity begins.

Tax receipts

A Relevé 24 tax slip is issued for eligible day camp expenses in accordance with current tax requirements and using the information provided at registration.

Refund policy

For the 2026 summer camp, registrations are refundable until June 30, 2026. No refunds will be issued on or after July 1, 2026. Administrative costs already incurred and absences are non-refundable.

Force majeure

If the camp must be suspended or changed for reasons beyond the control of Atlas Échecs, an alternative arrangement will be proposed whenever possible.
